Colin Farrell fought hard to make his version of the Penguin smoke tobacco in Batman (2022), but failed
Story
After the events of Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka The Penguin, plays a show to take control of Gotham’s criminal underworld. From melting makeup to filming in freezing temperatures, Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti talk about how they got into character during the production of The Penguin. For his own series, however, the character was portrayed as an occasional tobacco user, with a penchant for cigars.

But after the first episode, I will confirm that this series is amazing (so far)
I thought Colin Farrell was great as the Penguin in Batman, but I’ve never understood casting a thin, fit looking actor and putting him in huge prosthetics and a fat suit…especially when I think he looks like some other famous actors who would also be just as good. I also really didn’t understand why this spinoff was coming, and to be honest, I’m just tired of Batman reboots. I watched it only knowing that it was necessary to watch the bridge between the first and second films, and to my surprise I enjoyed Farrell in the role in the first.
But I didn’t expect to like it so much
The acting is great, the writing is excellent, and it surprised me with a few quick twists. The biggest thing I liked was the fact that there was a lot more color in this than in Batman. I noticed this almost immediately, as it was my biggest complaint about the film (it felt like I was watching it through a Zack Snyder lens).
I hope this continues to be this good because I really can’t wait for the next episode
