Below are several types of weeds and their uses.

Weeds/Reeds

Thatch grass is another name for reeds. We often encounter this type of grass on the edges of roads, forests and rice fields where the soil has dried out. Judging from its development, this weed grass is very fast in multiplying its seedlings, this is due to several factors.

Among other things, from their way of life, weeds generally grow in groups in certain places, this makes it easier for them to spread their seeds, plus the flower model is similar to cotton, so if exposed to the wind it is very easy for them to fly.

Weeds are often seen in several places with tall trees, even though if you look at people’s lives, the majority of residents in these places have livestock such as cows and goats, but why do they let the grass grow so high that it dies?

If you think about it logically, honey, why not just use it as animal feed? Well, to answer this question, weed grass is not suitable for use as animal feed because the texture of the grass is stiff, thin and sharp, so the mouth of the animal that eats it might get sick and as a result it won’t be eaten.

Grinding Grass

Grinding grass has its own advantages among other types of grass, its advantage is its survival power which is undoubtedly able to survive prolonged dry seasons, however this type of grass is also not in demand by livestock.

So much of this grass is left alone and not taken by grassers, but grinding grass is very useful for preventing erosion on sloping land because its fibrous roots are quite numerous and strong so it can make the soil solid and not easily collapse.

Initially, this grinding grass was a coastal plant, but now its development has spread to all corners of the country, including rice fields. In rice fields, this grass becomes a weed which really interferes with the growth of the main crops planted by farmers.

This is very worrying for farmers, their work becomes more complicated because apart from having to clean the weeds, they also have to spend extra energy to ensure that the grinding grass dies, because this grass has a strong survival rate.
